When Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s “Stay at Home” executive order went into effect on March 24, 2020, Versa Pak was deemed a critical supplier of essential businesses and remained open during the coronavirus pandemic.
But what does “critical supplier” actually mean?
From developing products helping health care workers on the front lines of COVID-19 to producing supplies for those isolating at home, Versa Pak has been making critical supplies for various industries to help keep the supply chain moving.
Keep reading to learn more about just a few of the ways we’ve been supporting those on the front lines of COVID-19.
What Products Is Versa Pak Producing During the Coronavirus Pandemic?
Here is a breakdown of some of the crucial products we’ve been producing during this time.
Materials for the Health Care Industry
While we regularly produce products for the health care industry, some of the items we have produced for the health care industry during COVID-19 include:
- Shrink film to wrap hospital gowns and bedding
- Soiled linen bags that ship to health care facilities
- Polyethylene bags that are used as secondary packaging for breathing tubes in the medical field
Working With Health Care Workers to Better Protect Them On the Front Lines
In addition to the above products, we are also working closely with hospitals to develop products to better protect those on the front lines of COVID-19.
We’ve teamed up with our local area hospital to come up with a type of perforated film that will cover the patient and allow for the medical staff to work on them through a protective barrier.
We’re also working with another hospital on developing a prototype for sheeting that will allow a slit for the health care provider to intubate a patient and also allow holes for their hands.
Materials for the Food Industry
In addition, we have increased the production of food packaging. Our food service industry products can range from film used to wrap bulk butter to packaging for meat and fresh and frozen foods.
Materials for Those Isolating at Home
Some of the other items we have been producing include materials that wrap books, puzzles and coloring books.
