How do I know what size of a poly bag I need? How do I even know what weight of a poly bag I need?
These are questions we hear all the time, and the Calculate Your Bag Size feature on our website can help you easily determine the size and weight of the polyethylene bag or sheeting you need — all you need to get started are some simple measurements.
Watch the video below as Versa Pak Sales Executive/Office Manager Heather Hoffman walks you through calculating the size of a box liner bag and a pallet cover bag using our Calculate Your Bag Size tool.
How to Calculate the Size of a Poly Bag
How Do I Calculate the Size of a Polyethylene Box Liner Bag?
Using the calculator feature, first plug in your box dimensions. You’ll need to know the box length, width and depth in inches. Once you insert those dimensions, you’ll see two calculations: The first being a bag to fit inside that box, and a second for a bag that will fit inside the box and includes extra room for tying.
How Do I Calculate the Size of a Polyethylene Pallet Cover Bag?
Just like the first calculation, you will need your pallet length, width and depth. Once you insert those dimensions, you will again get two calculations: The first being a poly bag to fit over the pallet, and the second, dimensions of a bag to fit over the pallet with an additional 4 inches in length to make it touch the floor.
How Do I Calculate Weight of a Poly Bag or Poly Sheeting?
Our Calculate Your Bag Size feature also has the availability to help you calculate the weight of your poly bag or poly sheeting. In order to determine weight, you will need to know the width, gusset, length, Mil and number of bags (or amount per roll) you will need. If you plug in all the necessary numbers, you will receive a calculation of the total weight of your poly bags and/or sheeting.
