Customer Service & Order Entry



General Purpose:

Customer service and order entry employees are responsible for responding to customer inquiries, initiating all orders received for production and performing a variety of duties relative to customer service in accordance with company policies and procedures.

General Responsibilities:

  • Interact with customers in a friendly manner and work to understand their needs.
  • Begin the process for customer orders.
  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right tools and resources.

Job Tasks:

  • Answer phone calls and transfer calls to the right department as necessary.
  • Respond to emails or customer inquiries that come in.
  • Refer customers to supervisors or more experienced employees when necessary.
  • Provide customers with information on products.
  • Handle customer complaints.
  • Take orders and enter orders into the system.
  • Keep records of customer interactions and actions that were taken.
  • Create quotes on products.
  • Update quotes as necessary.
  • Check the status of orders and count orders in the system.
  • Give tracking information.
  • Ship packages via UPS.
  • Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Able to read, write and speak English.
  • Able to provide consistent friendly service to customers.
  • Has basic understanding of computers and able to use a keyboard and computer programs such as Microsoft Word.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Organized and have the ability to multitask.

In the event that a customer service/order entry employee is not present, another qualified customer service/order entry personnel will take his or her place.

Hours:

  • Standard hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
