Watch the video below to take a tour of the lab.Research and Quality Capabilities at Versa PakHere are a few of the items you’ll find during Keith’s tour of Versa Pak’s quality and research lab.Coefficient of Friction Testing MachineThe COF tests the slip level of polyethylene film. Some applications may require a low slip, medium or high slip product. Versa Pak uses the machine to test film that has been sent (to be quoted or to produce a product) or that has been produced in-house.Impact Strength TestingThere are multiple machines in the Versa Pak lab that can be used to test the strength of the polyethylene film. In the video, Keith demonstrates the DART machine and the Spencer Impact machine.“The good thing about the Spencer impact machine is that we can also check the machine and transverse direction tear of the film,” Koverman added.Haze GuardThe Haze Guard is used to test the clarity of the film. Depending on the final product’s application, Versa Pak can use this machine to test clarity and light transmission to match the quality the end-user is looking for.Universal TesterWhen it comes to products that may be stretched, this machine can be used to test the film’s elongation and tensile strength.Precision MicrometerThis is one of the smallest machines you can find in the Versa Pak quality lab.
