Versa Pak continues to add capacity to meet the needs of our customer base and will continue to expand in 2019, as our three new co-ex lines hit the floor.
These three new co-ex lines, which expand Versa Pak’s die size offerings, provide distributors with more opportunities to offer multi-layer film solutions to their end users.
One line is up and running right now, the second will be completed by mid-February and the third will be running by the end of April.
“We were at capacity with our other lines, and we needed to provide more,” President Michael Brunswick says. “By going to five layers, we not only provide more capacity but more options for our customers.”

Overall, Brunswick says he is most excited about the growth of these three lines, which will have a positive capacity impact to improve Versa Pak’s lead time.
As for more lines in 2019, Brunswick says Versa Pak does have room and available capital, but there are no set plans yet.
Another 2019 goal is a focus on employee culture. This year, Versa Pak aims to include more training and other ways to get employees involved with the company.
“We’re looking at more ways to give our employees — at all levels — more ownership with what they’re doing,” Brunswick says.
Also this year, Versa Pak will be attending the AMI Polyethylene Films Conference, which is Feb. 5 to 7 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., as well as The United Group 2019 Conference from April 10 to 13 in Washington, D.C., and the Packaging Distributors of America Annual Meeting from May 19 to May 22 in Dove Mountain, Ariz.
